I find myself sitting here writing a new blog for my website www.karenstehrproperty.com.au and I simply can not believe the business has been up and running for 6 months! I am often asked "Karen how is the business going?" and as soon as I hear that, the biggest smile crosses my face and I become speechless...

For those that know me well, I am never without something to say.. but when I start to think of the beginning, the first day and the volume of work involved, the late nights, the establishment of the home office and the incredible gratitude I felt for those clients who chose to allow me to manage their investments, I am simply overwhelmed and lost for words.

One of the biggest surprises I would like to share, is the education and the satisfaction of achievement.

As a Property Manager of almost 30 years in Australia, I thought I knew all I needed to know, until I had to study to hold my full real estate license as a Licensee of a business. My qualifications were gained when Noah had his Ark... and so I had to sit 42 assessments - each assessment taking about a day to complete and then be submitted for marking. It was a daunting process, but at the end I felt as though I had achieved and learnt so much.

The depth of knowledge gained has given me an even deeper passion for the industry, a new-found respect for the procedures in place and a greater understanding of risk management, trust accounting, running a business, human resources, selling property, marketing... so many skills I knew I had .. but it was a pleasure to fine tune them and pass all my exams!

I would highly recommend studying for a full license for anyone interested in the real estate industry .. it is hard work, but extremely rewarding and the knowledge gained has only enriched my purpose and motivation to succeed.

Once again I thank those associated with Karen Stehr Property, from clients to customers and tradespeople to name a few... I am looking forward to continuing to share the journey with you as we speed towards the 12 month mark!
